Franklin School sits atop a rolling hill in the southern quadrant of Wadsworth, Ohio. Twelve acres of land envelop the school, including an expansive grassy area for play, wetlands for field studies, and a wooded area with trails for exploring. The district maintains the grounds well and was recently cited by Medina County Water and Soil Conservation District as a Wild School Site due to the maintenance of the natural areas on the property.

Franklin is one of five neighborhood elementary schools located throughout Wadsworth. All five follow the same adopted curriculums in all subjects; however, each maintains its unique character and culture. The staff follows the motto that proclaims our students have CLASS: Children Leading, Achieving, Striving, and Succeeding! This statement is read over the PA announcements each morning to remind everyone that this is the school's vision.
The state has rated the school as  ‘excellent’ many times over the past years. That success is mainly due to the high expectations the teaching team sets. Many interventions and supports are in place to assist all degrees of educational needs.
Finally, Franklin School is a perfect mixture of traditional and progressive teaching. Basic skills continue to be the main focus of our educational program; however, research has dictated that we help students secure the 21st-century skills they need to prepare for their future endeavors. We have infused STEM initiatives in all grades K-4 that help students learn the problem-solving process and work collaboratively to seek solutions. Students at Franklin School are introduced to various technologies, such as robots, videotaping and editing equipment, coding programs, 3D printers, and other design-process tools.
Franklin School is one of the delicate jewels in the Wadsworth City School’s crown!
